The Media Corporate Social Responsibility Forum (UK) and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs will host a private workshop session to explore corporate citizenship and sustainability issues as they relate to the U.S. media sector.

Geoffrey Heal, the Paul Garrett Professor of Public Policy and Business Responsibility from Columbia Business School, will facilitate the session alongside Devin T. Stewart, the director of the Global Policy Innovations program at the Carnegie Council. Scott Walker of the Media CSR Forum has provided additional coordination.

The meeting will broadly discuss CSR and business ethics in the United States and the implications for U.S media companies, with the hope of scoping the potential for future collaborations.

The UK Media CSR Forum was established in 2001 following recognition that the practice of CSR and sustainability for media companies has many unique features that could benefit from industry-wide collaboration—features that set it apart from traditional industrial sectors and other businesses.

To date, the forum has worked to help develop an understanding of the implications of CSR for media organizations; identified areas for prioritization; shared best practices; engaged with various stakeholders; and run collaborative projects on key issues. A full list of members and activities is available at the Media CSR Forum website.
