The Local Impact of Globalization: Ohio Dialogue

November 1, 2005

Organized by the Carnegie Council, based in New York City, and the Ohio State University’s John Glenn Institute, this town-hall meeting explored alternative policies and governance structures that can bring about a more equitable globalization for all. The dialogue focused on how globalization is influencing local economic choices and opportunities, and how individuals, firms and communities are responding to the systemic pressures unleashed by exposure to increasing openness. The dialogue focused specifically on the extent to which international forces are enabling or constraining Ohio’s strategic development initiatives.
