Debunking Third World Myths

By Hans Rosling | Gapminder, TED | February 2006

In this TED talk, educator Hans Rosling debunks myths about health and wealth in the so-called Third World, using dramatic statistics to show that it is preconceived ideas, not ignorance, that prevent us from making accurate and targeted development interventions. He champions free, open access to publicly funded databases to facilitate social science research, advocacy, and social entrepreneurial ventures.
