Hometown Security

By Majora Carter | TED | January 10, 2011

Call it "hometown security." Beekeeping and vocational training combine to reduce prisoner recidivism and create opportunities. Schools with green areas instead of blacktop reduce maintenance and energy costs and provide a healthier environment for students and staff. And clean energy campaigner Judy Bond (1952–2011) took a stand against mountaintop removal coal mining, but lost her battle against cancer.
