Regional Coordination for Economic and Social Research (CRIES)

Description CRIES promotes social and economic research focusing on the participation of civil society, starting from the assumption that democratic and institutional consolidation requires active involvement and monitoring. It aims for a more profound participation of civil society in regional formulation and implementation of public policies. It promotes social, cultural and economic regional integration. Its research focus is the promotion of the creation of an equal model of social, sustainable and participatory development. CRIES projects prioritize the importance of civil society participation in the development process of Latin American societies.
