Description The School is committed to achieving the highest standards in research and scholarship in order to inform our teaching, contribute to the advancement of our disciplines and make a contribution to regional, national and international development.

There are two broad research groups in the School. Staff in Politics have produced research of high quality, which has been entered in the Research Assessment Exercise in recent years in the History and Politics and International Studies Units of Assessment. Politics researchers will in future be members of the Social and Policy Studies Research Institute in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
