The Village Education Project

Description The Village Education Project is a nonprofit foundation that seeks to enhance the educational opportunities of children in rural villages, thus enhancing the prospects of entire communities. Their current project is underway in the villages outside of Otavalo, Ecuador. Students in sponsored villages are given scholarships to attend secondary school, and their primary schools are supported with a summer teaching program and resource support. The project was founded in August 2005 by volunteer teachers and a school principal in the mountains of Ecuador.
