Martín Pablo Abeles received his Ph.D. in economics from the New School University in 2005. He also studied economics at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, from which he graduated in 1995. Between 1996 and 2000 he was a research fellow at the Economics and Technology Department of FLACSO (Latin American School of Social Sciences) in Buenos Aires, where his main field of research was Argentina's wide-ranging privatization program. He is currently affiliated with CEFID-AR (Center of Economics and Finance for Development of Argentina) and is Director of the Economics Working Group in the Argentina Observatory at the New School University. He is currently a faculty member at the Graduate Program in International Affairs, New School University, where he teaches Comparative Development Experience. His main fields of interest are political economy, macroeconomics and development economics.
