Chandrakant Patel, born in Uganda, was a Director with UNCTAD and now represents the Southern and Eastern African Trade Information and Negotiations Institute (SEATINI) in Europe. SEATINI is closely involved with advisory and technical support to African delegations in the WTO Doha negotiations.

Mr. Patel was educated at King's College, Cambridge, and New York University.
