Chukwuma Agu coordinates Research and Publications at the African Institute for Applied Economics in Enugu, Nigeria, where he has worked since 2001.

His research interests are mainly in open-economy macroeconomics, international economic coordination and finance (including exchange-rate economics), trade and regional integration, macroeconomic policy reforms. He also has deep interests and have used tools of macro-econometric and systems modeling and forecasting.

Mr. Agu has attended several specialized trainings including the Cambridge Advanced Programme on Rethinking Development Economics and the IMF Financial Programming and Policies. He has published several journal articles, co-edited and contributed to mainline books in his areas of interest. He has also been actively involved in development policymaking, being part of the team that developed Nigeria's current economic policy reforms programme. Mr. Agu also consults for several Economic Policy Groups and serves as external reviewer for a number of International academic and policy journals.
