Negar Rachel Treister


Negar Rachel Treister completed the GPI Global Internship program in the summer of 2006. She is a New York-based freelance editor and consultant and is currently working as a PR consultant for a Los Angeles-based toy company and as a development editor for Bloomberg Press, where she edits books on the U.S. economy. She has also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program and as an editor and analyst for the Economist Intelligence Unit, where she focused on countries in the Middle East and Africa.

Negar received an M.A. in international affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in history and English from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated with honors. She has written for Policy Innovations and several other publications including The Economist's Viewswire service, Newsweek International, and the Austin American-Statesman. Her editing credits have appeared in Bloomberg Press and the Economist Intelligence Unit.
