Rachel Makabi completed the GPI Global Internship program in the summer of 2006. She has a Master of International affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A in history and English from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated with honors. She has written for Policy Innovations and several other publications including Newsweek International, the Austin American-Statesman and the Beverly Hills Weekly. She now edits the Economist Intelligence Unit's Country Commerce and Country Finance reports for countries in the Middle East and Africa.
