Leandro Serino
PHD Candidate, Institute of Social Studies (ISS)
Leandro Antonio Serino is a PHD Candidate at the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague, Netherlands. He completed a Master in Science in Development Economics jointly dictated by the ISS, Free University Amsterdam and Wageningen University in 2003, and since mid-2004 has been dedicated to his PhD research, which addresses the problem of economic diversification in countries with abundant natural resource endowments. Serino graduated in economics from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in 1998 and worked until 2002 as research and teaching assistant at UBA and at the University of General Sarmiento. During this period he specialized in labor market and income distribution issues and also did some consultancy work for the Ministry of Social Development. Since 2002, Serino has been focusing on development economics and applied macroeconomics, having participated in comparative macroeconomic studies at ISS and in a project identifying the main advances in development economic theory at ECLAC Buenos Aires.
