Marek Tiits is chairman of the board of the Institute of Baltic Studies, a private research and development centre specialising in socio-economic analysis of the developments in Baltic Sea region. His particular field of expertise is in the domain of science and technology policy, with special focus on information and communication technologies. For the past 10 years he has been holding different national and international expert and advisory positions in the field of research and development, and innovation policy, among the others with the Government of the Republic of Estonia, and the European Commission.
