Bennett Foddy studied for his undergraduate degrees and then his doctorate at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His doctorate was funded by an Australian Stem Cell Centre scholarship. He held the Harold T. Shapiro postdoctoral fellowship in bioethics at Princeton University from 2007 to 2010.
His research interests include bioethics, medical ethics, and neuroethics; philosophy of addiction, obesity, and willpower; and the ethics of human enhancement, particularly lifespan enhancement, and the ethics of sport.
His hobbies include cooking, running, photography, and writing computer software and games.
