Geoffrey Cain is a freelance journalist who has covered Asia for TIME, The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Far Eastern Economic Review, The New Republic, Foreign Policy, and academic journals. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Fulbright scholar in Vietnam. He has also lived in South Korea and Cambodia.
Previously, Cain worked as an advocate for press and Internet freedoms. In 2009, he headed a European Union–funded media training and research project for the Cambodian Center for Independent Media, and he continues to be a commentator on the topic.
Cain holds an M.A. from London's School of Oriental and African Studies and a B.A. from The George Washington University.
