Joe Copeland is a veteran U.S. journalist who is currently associated with the Seattle PostGlobe website. He was an editorial writer with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer before its closure in March 2009. He has reported from Japan several times, including from Hiroshima and Nagasaki under an Akiba Project grant. He will be in Japan during part of 2009 as a Fulbright Scholar under a research grant. Hiroshima City University's Hiroshima Peace Institute is generously hosting him as a visiting researcher. Before joining the Post-Intelligencer, he wrote and edited for The Herald of Everett, most recently as editorial page editor for 13 years.
