Michael Cohen

 
 

Executive Director, North American Office of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies

Rabbi Michael Cohen is a graduate of the University of Vermont and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. He was the Rabbi of the Israel Congregation in Manchester Center, Vermont from 1990–2000. He has also served at the President of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. Presently he is the Executive Director of the North American Office of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. Rabbi Cohen was a founding faculty member of the program in 1996 while on sabbatical from the Israel Congregation. He returned there for another year in 2000 and is there this year as well. He is a co-founder of the Green Zionist Alliance. He recently completed writing a novella, "Einstein's Rabbi."
