Michael Zhao (Yunfeng) received a Masters in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007, having previously worked as a Reporting Assistant for the Pulitzer Prize winning reporting team of Joe Kahn and Jim Yardley at the Beijing Bureau of the New York Times. While at Berkeley he shifted his focus from print to multimedia journalism and completed a multimedia reporting project on the issue of electronic waste. His documentary eDump has been featured in numerous film festivals. He has published numerous articles and photos in the New York Times, Forbes, The Economist, Far Eastern Economic Review,Berkeley Science Review, World Policy Journal and other publications.

As Multimedia Producer at the Asia Society Center on US-China Relations, he is now running and producing video and other new media projects on China's environment, energy and climate issues for CHINA GREEN.

China Green's "Clearing the Air: China's Environmental Challenge" project won the 2009 Asian American Journalists Association's Unlimited Subject Matter: Online National Journalism Award; The "Tibetan Plateau in Peril" project won the Society for News Design's Best of Multimedia Design Competition for the third quarter of 2008/09.
