Pan Zhenqiang

Major General Pan Zhenqiang (retired) is deputy chairman of the China Foundation for International Studies, senior adviser to the China Reform Forum, and director of research at the Institute for Strategy and Management of the Central University of Finance and Economics in China. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Council of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs.

Major General Pan is a guest professor at a number of China's civilian universities and research institutions, including Tsinghua University in Beijing and Fudan University in Shanghai. He joined the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in 1963 and served in the Department of the General Staff for over two decades. After 1986, he was research fellow and director at the Institute of Strategic Studies, PLA National Defense University until his retirement in August 2001.
