Pentti Aalto is an energy analyst and consultant with more than 25 years experience developing innovative energy solutions. He is a pioneer in renewable energy applications and development and has comprehensive experience in plant energy assessments and dynamic modeling, including pinch-point energy analysis. His expertise includes ground-source heat pumps, district heating, biomass energy, cogeneration, and energy markets, as well as regulatory and policy developments such as retail competition in the electric industry. He has developed powerful analytic models for utility spot markets using moving averages and trend analysis to facilitate development of financial hedges and the elimination of basis risk.
